We're in the homestretch, officially!
I hope everyone had a relaxing and fun April vacation-- it was nice to have at least a few days of beautiful weather to enjoy. I am so proud of grades k-2, who did an incredible job at their concert on April 18th; once again, BRAVO! You all looked and sounded amazing. Though we have two months left of school, it seems the schedule is even more jam packed than usual! Elementary students are singing spring songs and silly music games, and third grade is working on their Recorder Karate songs-- we are already at our Purple belt! Fourth grade is learning about the instruments of the orchestra and the variety of styles they can perform. Fifth grade is finishing Composer Madness-- out of the 32 we started with, we are down to the Final Four: Dvorak, Vaughan Williams, Beethoven, and Tchaikovsky. They are working on their posters about the composer of their choice at the moment, hoping to convince their classmates to vote in their favor. Sixth grade is finishing their Broadway Musical unit, and seventh grade is working on the next era of music in our study of Music History, the Medieval Era. Eighth grade is starting a mini-project on influential American musicians of the last century, which will hopefully take us to the end of the year. Have a great week! Ms. Meiman
